The Niels family ran the restaurant of the Belgian pavilion at the Osaka Expo ’70 World Fair, delighting the visitors with their Belgian cuisine. The venue was entirely designed in Belgium by Christophe Gevers (1928-2007), shipped and assembled in Japan. Besides the restaurant, Albert Niels (1917-1978) also opened a « fritkot » for the occasion, which turned out to be a dazzling success among the Japanese visitors.
